A man in his late 20’s was left in a serious condition earlier this afternoon when he was stung multiple times by a swarm of bees in Park West, Bloemfontein.
It is understood that the man was walking down Donald Murray Avenue in Park West when he was stung outside a business property. Employees from the nearby business noticed that he was in trouble and called for an ambulance to assist.
When paramedics from ER24 Bloemfontein arrived on the scene they found that the man was stung multiple times on his upper body. Due to severe allergic reaction paramedics had to act quickly to stabilise him before rushing him off to Pelonomi Hospital for further care.
One of the ER24 paramedics on scene was also stung multiple times in the face while treating the man. Fortunately he had no allergic reaction but later went through to Mediclinic Bloemfontein for a medical assessment.
