Twelve people have sustained various injuries after two taxis and a delivery vehicle collided on the M13 East bound just after Richmond Road in Pinetown just after 16:30 yesterday.
Rescue Care and ER24 Paramedics arrived to find two taxis and a delivery vehicle had collided in the fast lane of highway. Paramedics found patients seated on the Armco barrier. They quickly assessed and found that two patients had sustained moderate injuries and a further ten sustained minor injuries. More ambulances were called to assist and once all the injured were stabilized they were transported to various Durban Hospitals for the further care that they required.
It is unclear what caused the collision however SAPS were on the scene and will be investigating further.
Traffic was severely affected as the onramp from Richmond Road was closed whilst emergency personal worked to clear the scene.
