Three people were left in a critical condition after two trucks collided on the N1 near Worcester, Western Cape early this morning.
ER24 paramedics arrived on scene to find the two mangled trucks blocking one lane of the road. Three occupants were critically injured and trapped in their truck.
Provincial services had to use the jaws-of-life equipment to free the occupants in a 45-minute operation.
Once freed, paramedics provided advanced life support to the patients before they were transported by ambulance to a nearby hospital for urgent medical treatment.
The cause of the collision is not yet known and local authorities were on scene for further investigations.
