One man was seriously injured after he was hoisting a life boat up the side of a ship in the Port Elizabeth harbour this afternoon.
Netcare 911 paramedics arrived at the scene and found the man lying on the deck. The emergency crews worked fervently to stabilise the patient and after he was skilfully immobilised on a trauma board they had to clamber down the steep gang way to get the patient to the ambulance waiting at on the wharf.
After they placed the patient into the ambulance he was transported to a local hospital under the constant care of an advance life support paramedic.
