Member of public saves child from drowning at Durban hotel

A six year old escaped serious injury after a near drowning incident at a hotel in Durban early this morning.

ER24 paramedics responded to the hotel to find the young child sitting with his parents, visibly shaken.

Paramedics assessed the patients vital signs before transporting him to a nearby hospital for further medical care.

A witness stated that he had noticed the motionless child floating in the water. He then dived into the water before pulling him out and administering basic first aid.

The cause of the incident is not yet known.
