Four children sustained minor injuries this morning after a transformer caught alight on School Road, Pinetown.
On arrival, paramedics were greeted by a large group of children aged between ten and twelve. Paramedics assessed the children finding four had sustained smoke inhalation injuries.
The children were treated for their injuries and thereafter transported to nearby hospitals for further treatment.
It is believed that the transformer caught alight and began to burn, sending clouds of smoke blowing over the school.
Local authorities were on scene for further investigations.
