Collision between two minibuses off the R56 in Thornville leaves 11 commuters injured

This morning paramedics from KZN Emergency Medical Services and several private ambulance services responded to Hopewell road off the R56 in Thornville in the vicinity of Richmond, in the KZN Midlands, where there was a collision between to minibuses.

The paramedics found 11 people had been injured in the collision, which occurred just after 7am this morning. The patients had sustained mostly minor injuries but were still assessed and had all the required medical care provided by the paramedics, before the patients were transported to hospital for continued medical care by the paramedics from the private ambulance services that had responded to the scene.

Comment regarding the cause of the collision needs to be obtained from the police and Department of Transport
