A man tragically died after he was hit by a light delivery vehicle along mayors walk in Pietermaritzburg this morning at around 11h30. Reports indicate that the man was trying to cross the road when he landed in front of a vehicle that was driving down the roadway.
Netcare 911 paramedics arrived at the scene and found the man lying on the side of the roadway with life threatening injuries. Soon after our arrival the man went into cardiac arrest, paramedics worked fervently for some time to resuscitate the critically wounded man. Tragically he died on scene due to the extensive injuries that he sustained.
