Three people were injured, one seriously so, after two trucks collided along Alumina allee Road in Richards bay this evening at around 18h02. Reports indicate that the one truck smashed into the side of the other truck at an intersection leaving one of the men severely trapped in the twisted remains of truck.
Netcare 911 paramedics the fire department and a tow trucker worked tirelessly for about two hours to free the injured patient. While the Netcare staff and firemen used the Jaws of Life to extricate the man, Marvic tow lines assisted by using a winch to assist in pulling the steering column away from the patient.
After the patients were stabilised at the scene paramedics transported them to a local hospital for the care that they required.
