Netcare 911 paramedics and other services responded to an accident on Reitz Street in Kroonstad this afternoon.
Upon their arrival on scene they found that one person was in a serious condition after a light delivery vehicle and heavy goods vehicle collided.
The injured patient was treated on scene before being transported to hospital for further medical care.
Exact detail to the cause of the accident and preceding events will remain the subject of a police investigation.
