Passenger critically injured in collision, Durban

A front seat passenger has been left with critical injuries after two vehicles collided on Saturday morning around 9am at the intersection of Leicester Road and Pendleberry Road in Mobeni, Durban.

Rescue Care paramedics arrived to find that two vehicles had collided before one vehicle overturned and hit a pedestrian on the side walk. Paramedics found a critically injured male in the passenger seat of the one vehicle. They immediately called for Advanced Life Support assistance as the patient had sustained critical injuries. The patient was carefully extricated from the car before being placed on a manual ventilator by paramedics. Once stabilized he was rushed through to a nearby hospital for further care that he required. The pedestrian was also treated on scene before being taken to a nearby hospital.

It is unclear what caused the collision however SAPS were on the scene and will be investigating further.
