Netcare 911 paramedics responded to a pedestrian accident on New Port Road in Masonville, Pietermaritzburg at around 18h00 tonight.
Upon their arrival on scene they found a thirty-four-year-old man in a serious condition after he was knocked over by a vehicle.
The man was treated on scene before he was transported to hospital for further medical care.
Exact detail to the cause of the accident and preceding events will remain the subject of a police investigation.
