Netcare 911 paramedics and other services responded to an accident on High Road in Pomona, Benoni this afternoon.
Upon their arrival on scene they found that two vehicles were involved in a side-impact accident resulting in a seventy-year-old man found to be in a serious condition.
The man was treated on scene and transported to hospital for further medical care.
Exact detail to the cause of the accident and preceding events will remain the subject of a police investigation.
