A woman in her 20’s is in a critical condition after being struck by a car on Queen Victoria Road in Claremont, Western Cape.
ER24 paramedics, along with other services, arrived on scene and found the patient lying on the side of the road next to the pavement.
On assessment, paramedics discovered that the patient had sustained severe head and leg injuries and was in a critical condition.
Advanced life support was performed on the patient to stabilize her vital signs before she was transported to Groote Schuur Hospital for urgent medical treatment.
The driver of the light motor vehicle fortunately did not sustain any injuries.
The cause of the collision is not yet known but local authorities were on scene for further investigations.
