A motorcyclist has tragically lost his life after his motorcycle rear-ended a motor vehicle on the N1 south bound just past the New Road on-ramp in Midrand this morning.
Netcare 911 paramedics and other services arrived on scene and found that the man had tragically already died prior to their arrival.
Reports from the scene indicate that after the motorcycle rear-ended the motor vehicle, the motorcycle fell on top of the motorcyclist and burst into flames.
Exact detail to the cause of the accident and preceding events will remain the subject of a police investigation.
Traffic is severely affected on the N1 south bound.
