A 13-year-old boy has drowned earlier today in a quarry dam in Petit, Benoni.
ER24 paramedics received an emergency call from the SAPS about a child that had apparently drown in the nearby lake.ER24 paramedics immediately responded to the call.
Once on scene, paramedics discovered the lifeless body of the young body. Unfortunately there was nothing more the paramedics could do for the child and he was later declared dead.
The child was apparently pulled out of the dam by a passer-by.
Local authorities were on scene for further investigations.
