Paramedics in the Port Shepstone area have responded to the Izotsha road in the Port Shepstone area, where there has been an accident involving a water tanker truck.

The accident occurred after 10am this morning. The truck was driving up a steep hill on the Izotsha road when it rolled backwards and left the road before overturning, off the road in an open field. Fortunately the truck didn’t collide with any other vehicles, when rolling backwards on the steep hill, where traffic often backs up behind trucks travelling slowly up the hill on the stretch of road which is well known to EMS as a high accident zone.

One of the occupants jumped out of the truck when it started rolling backwards and the other occupant was still in the truck when it overturned, causing several damage to the truck. The men amazingly only sustained minor injuries and were treated by paramedics.

The South African Police Service, were also on scene and have started an investigation into the exact cause of the accident and the preceding events.
