A woman is in a critical condition following a rear-end collision on the M41 Gateway bound in KZN this morning.
Exact detail surrounding the cause of the accident and preceding events will remain the subject of a police investigation.
Netcare 911 paramedics and other services arrived on scene and found that a Bantam light delivery vehicle had rear-ended a Toyota Carolla motor vehicle resulting in two of the three lanes highway being obstructed.
Upon assessment of all the occupants, it was found that the occupant of the Bantam vehicle had sustained minor to moderate injuries and the man did not require hospitalisation.
The female occupant of the Toyota motor vehicle were found to be in a critical condition and was treated and immobilized on scene. The critically injured woman was rushed to hospital for the urgent medical care that she required.
The roadway was obstructed while recovery of the vehicles took place.
