A man is in a critical condition this evening after he was hit by a train between Muizenburg and St James train station in Muizenburg, Western Cape.
When ER24 paramedics arrived on scene, they found the man lying on the side on the railway tracks in a critical condition.
It is believed that the man had been walking on the tracks before he was struck by the train.
Paramedics had to provide the patient with advanced life support before he was airlifted by medical helicopter to Groote Schuur Hospital for further medical treatment.
Local authorities were on scene for further investigations.
