Paramedics treat patients in Durban CBD

EMS KZN

Paramedics from several ambulance services have treated at least 15 people from a store in the West street area of Durban CBD. It is suspected that pepperspray (or similar substance) leaked from a canister that was part of a security system.

Paramedics arrived on scene to find chaos. Fifteen patients, who are staff members and customers from the store were treated by the paramedics, for symptoms resulting from the gas.

14 of the patients were transported to a local private hospital in Durban by the paramedics from several private ambulance services.

The police, were also on the scene, have cordoned the area off and are investigating the exact circumstances surrounding the  matter.
