Eight children injured in taxi collision in Gordons Bay

11 people were injured this morning, 8 of them children, when a bakkie t-boned a taxi on Gordons Bay Road in Gordons Bay.

11 patients, including 8 children, sat on the grassy embankment staring at the taxi that lay on its side as ER24 paramedics arrived on scene.

On assessment, paramedics found that the 11 patients had fortunately sustained only minor injuries.

Paramedics treated the patients for their injuries and thereafter transported them to Helderburg Hospital for further observations.

It is believed that the collision was caused when the taxi apparently turned in front of the bakkie.

Local authorities were on scene for further investigations.
