One person was injured after a motor vehicle left a bridge and drove down an embankment on Everton Road in Kloof in the late hours of last night.
Exact detail surrounding the cause of the accident and preceding events will remain the subject of a police investigation.
Netcare 911’s rescue unit and other services arrived at the scene and had to clamber down the embankment to reach the patient.
A lengthy rescue operation was started to hoist the patient back to the top of the road in a rescue basket.
Once the patient was at the top of the road, patient was treated and transported to hospital for further medical care.
