Eight injured in vehicle collision on R27 near the Koeberg Power station turn off

Eight people were injured this morning when three vehicles collided on the R27, close to the Koeberg Power station turn off, also known as the West coast Road.

The collision involved a bus, a light delivery truck as well as a light motor vehicle. The scene was covered in shattered glass and the light delivery truck was pushed off of the road into a nearby field.

When ER24 paramedics arrived on scene they found five people with minor injuries and three people with moderate injuries. Fortunately no one sustained any serious injuries.

ER24 paramedics assisted in treating the patients and transported three patients to the New Somerset Hospital in Cape Town for further treatment. The remainder of the patients were transported to local hospitals in the area.

The cause of the accident is still unknown, however local authorities were on scene.
