Lady hit by train in the Marianhill area

Last night KZN EMS paramedics once again responded to the train tracks near Thornwood, which is in the Marianhill area, where a woman had been hit by a train.

When paramedics arrived on scene last night, they found that bystanders had carried the patient from the tracks, up to the road side. The paramedics assessed the lady and found that she had sustained critical injuries. They worked frantically to try and save her life, before rushing her to hospital.

Unfortunately, the woman succumbed to her injuries and demised.

This incident occurred on the tracks in the vicinity of the Klaarwater train station, where two men were hit by a train ???last Saturday morning???. The paramedics who responded to the case said it was becoming a common occurrence for people to be hit by trains in the area.

In a separate incident on 02 December 2014, a man was critically injured near Ulundi, after being hit by a train.

Members of the public are once again urged to be cautious at all times, when passing through the train level crossing.
