Nine people were injured after a minibus rear-ended a heavy goods vehicle on the N3 near Van Reenen at Windy Corner this afternoon.
Netcare 911 paramedics, its rescue unit and other services arrived at the scene and found debris scattered all over the road. Traffic was severely obstructed as a result of the accident.
Upon assessment of the occupants of the minibus they found that nine people, some children, sustained various injuries.
After receiving treatment at the scene, some of the patients were transported to hospital for further medical care.
Exact detail surrounding the cause of the accident and preceding events will remain the subject of a police investigation.
