A five-year-old boy drowned at a residential premises in Tokai, Cape Town, earlier today.
ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene and found that the child had been taken out of the pool. CPR by family members was in progress.
Paramedics, with Fire and Rescue Services, took over CPR, providing the patient with advanced life support. Unfortunately after more that 30 minutes of CPR, no vital signs returned. The child was declared dead.
Local authorities were on scene.
