8 school children injured in collision

Eight children between the ages of 6 and 10 years old have been injured whilst on their way to school this morning on the M13 Durban bound before Westwood Mall.

Just after 7am Rescue Care paramedics were called to the M13 for a three vehicle collision involving a school minibus and two cars. On arrival paramedics found the terrified children still inside the taxi. On assessment paramedics found that the children had sustained minor injuries and treated them before transporting them to various Durban hospitals for the further care that they required. One other occupant from the other two vehicles also sustained minor injuries and also proceeded to hospital for further care.

At this stage it is unclear what caused the collision however SAPS were on scene and will be investigating further.
