Two taxis have rolled this morning, leaving a five-year-old girl dead and nine others injured on the N1 near the R101 n Polokwane.
ER24 paramedics along with other services arrived on scene to find two taxis on the side of the road. It was evident that both taxis had rolled multiple times.
A lifeless body of a five-year-old girl lay a few metres away from the one of the vehicles. On assessment, paramedics found that the patient had already succumb to her severe injuries.
Nine other patients were found on scene with various injuries ranging from minor to moderate. Paramedics assessed and treated the patients before transporting them to nearby hospitals including Polokwane Hospital for further treatment.
It is understood that one of the taxis was towing another when one of the drivers lost control, causing the vehicles to roll.
Local authorities were on scene to begin their investigations.
