One person tragically died and another was seriously injured after a taxi overturned on the N2 south near Queen Nandi Drive this evening at around 21h00. Exact detail to the cause of the accident and preceding events will remain a subject for police comment.
Netcare 911 paramedics and the fire department arrived at the scene and found one person still trapped under the wreckage of the vehicle while another was found at the side of the roadway. Firemen used the Jaws of Life to free the female in her thirties but she tragically died on scene due to the extensive injuries that she sustained.
Paramedics treated the seriously injured patient on scene before they transported the victim to a local hospital for further medical care.
