A man was seriously injured following an accident on Leeuwkop Road near Kikuyu Road in Sunninghill Park, Sandton this afternoon.
Netcare 911 paramedics arrived at the scene and found that a motorcycle and motor vehicle were involved in the accident. The severely damaged motorcycle was found approximately fifty meters away from the point of impact.
Paramedics found the injured motorcyclist on the side of the road. Bystanders helped the injured man from the middle of the road to the side of the road to ensure his safety.
Upon assessment of the motorcyclist they found the man had sustained serious injuries and after receiving treatment at the scene, the man was transported to hospital for further medical care.
The occupants of the motor vehicle were fortunately uninjured during the accident.
Exact detail surrounding the cause of the accident and preceding events will remain the subject of a police investigation.
