Two police officers arrested for corruption in Mitchells Plain

Lentegeur police station received information of tik at a house in Bitou Street, Eastridge, Mitchells Plain. Two officers attended to the matter and arrested the suspect. They then proceeded to negotiate his release with him in exchange for R1000.

After his family paid the agreed the amount, the suspect was released and the drugs were then handed in as found abandoned.

Lentegeur police was alerted about the corrupt agreement and the two constables aged 29 and 33 were approached by a senior member, who found the cash in their possession. They were arrested for corruption and are due in Mitchells Plain court on Monday 2015-03-02.
