Four construction workers have been injured at the Durban harbour

Emergency services have treated four construction workers, who have sustained serious injuries after a 5-6 meter fall.

The men were working on a steel structure, believed to be a coal storage container, where renovations were being done. According to the paramedics on scene part of the structure, appears to have collapsed and the men fell to the ground with the structure. Paramedics from KZN Emergency Medical Services and a local private ambulance service have treated and stabilized the patients and will be transporting them to hospitals in the area for continued care.

The exact cause and the reason for part of the structure collapsing are at this stage unknown and will be investigated.
