A man in his 50s and woman in her 60s was killed this afternoon in a motorcycle collision on Sir Lowreys Pass in Gordons Bay, Western Cape.
ER24 paramedics arrived on scene and found a SUV lying on its side in the middle of the road. A motorcycle lay a few metres away with the body of the driver lying next to it.
On assessment, paramedics discovered that both the motorcycle driver as well as the driver of the SUV had sustained fatal injuries in the collision. Unfortunately nothing more could be done for both patients.
Rescue services had to use the jaws-of-life equipment to later free the deceased driver from the SUV.
The cause of the collision is not yet known but local authorities were on scene for further investigations.
