Twelve taxi commuters were injured, two seriously so, after a side impact accident along the M37 in Amanzimtoti this afternoon. A report from the scene indicates that the taxi was traveling east along the M37, a V W Polo was traveling west ad was trying to take the turn off to Kwamakutha when the accident occurred.
Netcare 911 paramedics the fire department and other services arrived at the scene and found the patients at the side of the roadway. The crumpled remains of the vehicles had come to rest next to the barriers on the east bound lane.
After medics stabilised the injured at the scene they transported them to various hospitals for the care that they required.
