Collision on N14 leaves one dead and a child airlifted

One person died and three others were injured in a collision on the N14, before the R55 in Olivenhout, earlier this afternoon.

It is understood a bakkie and car collided. When ER24 paramedics and other services arrived on scene they found a woman in the bakkie. Unfortunately there was nothing paramedics could do for her. She was declared dead. A girl believed to be about five years old was assessed and found to be in a critical condition. She was treated and airlifted to hospital by ER24’s helicopter, AER24. It is understood she was ejected from the vehicle.

A boy, believed to be about four years old, and a man sustained moderate injuries. They were transported to hospital by ambulance.

The exact cause of the collision is unknown however authorities were on scene for further investigations.
