A driver has been seriously injured after the vehicle she was driving lost control and overturned on Blundell Road in the Queensburgh area around 09:30am this morning.
Rescue Care paramedics arrived on the scene to find the badly damaged vehicle in the roadway. Paramedics found the driver seriously injured entrapped in the wreckage. Advanced Life Support paramedics stabilized the patient in the vehicle before the Fire Department utilized the jaws of life to cut the patient out. Once the patient was cut free she was placed on a specialized spinal board before being transported by Rescue Care to a nearby private facility for the further care that she required.
At this stage it is unclear what caused the single vehicle to roll however SAPS were on scene and will be investigating further.
