Six people have been injured three seriously so after a collision on Saturday evening on the M7 West bound before Bellville Road.
Numerous calls were received by passersby of a serious collision with multiple patients injured. On arrival Rescue Care paramedics found the mangled vehicles obstructing most of the highway leaving only one lane open for traffic. Paramedics found that two vehicles had collided head on. Six people from the one vehicle were injured with three sustaining serious injuries. Advanced Life Support paramedics had to assist to stabilize the seriously injured patients. Once all of the injured had been stabilized they were transported to various Durban Hospitals for the further care that they required.
AT this stage it is unclear what caused the collision however it is alleged that one of the vehicles came from the opposite carriageway. SAPS were on the scene and will be investigating further.
