Two treated for smoke inhalation, Kimberley

Two people were treated for smoke inhalation this morning at a business in Bultfontein Road in Kimberley.

When ER24 paramedics and fire services arrived on scene, they found that the building had already been evacuated. A large group of people had gathered near the evacuation point.

Fire services made their way into the building to begin their inspection while paramedics treated two patients who had sustained minor smoke inhalation.

The patients were treated for their injuries and thereafter transported to Mediclinic Gariep for further treatment.

It is understood that a fire had broken out at the business, but extinguished by public on scene. Emergency services were called later to the scene after some of the workers complained of smoke inhalation.

Local authorities were on scene for further investigations.
