Three people have been seriously injured after a collision on the N3 Durban Bound near the M13 offramp near Key Ridge just after 07:30am this morning.
Rescue Care Paramedics came across the serious collision just minutes after it had happened. Two vehicles had collided after it is alleged one vehicle
Somehow lost control and went through the centre medium hitting a vehicle travelling in the opposite direction. More ambulances and Advanced life Support units were dispatched from multiple services. Two people in the one vehicle were entrapped in the wreckage and the jaws of life and hydraulic equipment was used to free them. Once all of the seriously injured patients had been stabilized they were transported by Rescue Care, Meditech and ER24 ambulances to various Durban hospitals for the further care that they required.
At this stage it is unclear exactly what caused the vehicle to veer across however the necessary authorities were on scene and will be investigating further.
