A woman lost her life and another woman was injured following an accident on the N1 Danie Joubert Freeway near the N4 in Persequor, Pretoria this afternoon.
Netcare 911 paramedics and other services arrived at the scene and found that a motor vehicle left the roadway, overturned several times and came to a standstill back on its wheels at the side of the road.
Upon assessment of the occupants, paramedics found that a woman, believed to be in her twenties, tragically lost her life during the rollover accident. The woman tragically died prior to their arrival, due to the extensive injuries sustained and sadly she was declared dead at the scene. The female passenger of the vehicle was found to have sustained serious injuries during the accident.
The injured woman was treated at the scene and transported to hospital for further medical care.
Exact detail surrounding the cause of the rollover accident and preceding events will remain the subject of a police investigation.
No other vehicles were involved in the accident.
