Crisis Medical paramedics and Ethekwini Fire and Rescue services responded to the informal settlement in Malacca Road, Glen Hills, Durban at approximately 19:30 on Saturday (2015/05/02).
Extraordinarily efforts by our dedicated fire fighters saw the damage contained to a small percentage of the settlement.
A few residents were assessed and treated on scene for smoke inhalation and shock however no serious injuries were reported.
The cause of the fires is unclear and investigations are underway.
