One man was injured in an accident on the R 56 (Richmond Road) near Thornville this morning. Reports from the scene indicated that the driver came down a steep hill when he veered off the road and slammed into a house.
Netcare 911 paramedics arrived at the scene and found that the driver of the truck had jumped from the moving vehicle before it hit the house, fortunately, the lounge of the house was unoccupied at the time and nobody from that residence was injured.
Paramedics treated the seriously injured driver on scene before transporting him to a local hospital for the care that he required.
