Police on patrol find ammunition dumped in open field

On Thursday 2015-05-21 at about 12H00, the Roodepoort K9 unit patrol vehicle was patrolling the Muldesdrift area. During their patrol they decided to take a walk in the open field with their two dogs Sheeba (narcotics dog) and Crunchie (explosives dog) unaware that their walk is going to lead them into the discovery of the dumped ammunition.

They found boxes of red twelve gauge shotgun live rounds. A total of 360 rounds, 26 black short gun live rounds, 18 blue short gun live rounds, 05 green, 15 transparent live rounds, three magazines of 308 Winchester hunting rifle, 1x R5 magazine, 6x loct45 live rounds, 1x 9 mm live round and 53 empty shell casings of a 308 Winchester hunting rifle was found. No one has been arrested and police are investigating.
