Light motor vehicle collision causes secondary accident, Umhlanga Rocks Drive

Crisis Medical paramedics were dispatched to a call for a motor vehicle collision on Umhlanga Rocks Drive at approximately 22h00 on Friday night. On arrival they found an eighteen year old driver had lost control of his BMW causing is to careen across the roadway and collide with the armco barrier on the opposite side of the road. He remarkably sustained no injuries.

While paramedics were attending to the scene they were alerted to the sound of a secondary collision as a driver of a scooter, a male in his thirties lost control of his bike due to the debris left on the road way from the initial collision, causing him to slide across the tarmac. He sustained a suspected fractured limb and was treated by advanced life support paramedics before being transported by ambulance to a nearby hospital for further care.

The road way remained closed to traffic while paramedics attended to the scenes occupying both sides of the roadway.
