Hijack suspects arrested having made U-turn to avoid roadblock

Two suspects aged 24 and 28 were arrested this morning after they tried to evade members of PSS who were conducting a stop and search operation.

It is alleged that the members were blocking the Malboro drive West when the suspects noticed them and made a u-turn trying to avoid the roadblock. The suspects fled towards Alexandra but we’re picked up by JMPD Crime Prevention members.

The suspects jumped out of their white BMW and proceeded to flee on foot but were arrested. Further investigation revealed that the BMW was reported hijacked in Lenasia in January 2015.

Police recovered five unlicensed firearms including three 9mm pistol and two R5 rifles, two blue lights, two reflector jackets, hand cuffs, cable ties ammunition for different calibre firearms and a siren.

The Cluster Commander of Alexandra applauded the members for a job well done and said that they were not ruling out the possibility of linking the suspects to other crime that was committed in the Cluster.
