One person has been killed and sixteen injured in crash on the P200 road

A young man has sadly been killed when a minibus overturned on the P200 road near Gamalakhe, just after 8am this morning. Emergency services including paramedics from KZN EMS attended the incident.

Paramedics from several ambulance services, treated the 16 patients, who had survived the crash, this included, one patient who had been trapped inside the overturned vehicle. She was freed by fire fighters from Hibiscus Coast Fire and Rescue.

Three patients had sustained serious injuries, while the remaining 13 patients had sustained relatively minor injuries. The patients were stabilised at the scene of the crash before being transported to hospitals in the area, including Gamalakhe CHC and Murchison hospital for continued medical care.

The police are investigating the circumstances resulting in the crash.
