Today at about 08:00, a cigarette delivery vehicle was targeted by five armed robbers at a Supermarket in Elandsvlei. The 5 suspects were driving a Silver Audi and took the driver and crew of the vehicle at gunpoint. Witnesses reported the crime immediately to SAPS.
Approximately 10 minutes later, the hijacked vehicle was recovered without the cargo in Greenhills.
Information was received that a LDV was also accompanying the silver Audi. Members from the Krugersdorp Cluster Task team followed up information and in less than 2 hours had successes.
They arrested three suspects, recovered most of the cargo and also recovered a stolen vehicle, which was stolen in Kagiso during April 2015. Two suspects and the silver Audi are still at large.
