Two people have sadly lost their lives during a light aircraft crash in the Winkelspruit area near the N2 highway, The aircraft has crash into a sugar cane field adjacent to the N2 highway.
It is believed that the pilot and a passenger were the only people on board. The crash is believed to have happened today just after14h00. When emergency services first arrived at the scene the plane was burning and the fire had to be extinguished.
The cause of the crash is unknown at this stage and will be the subject of an investigation by the relevant authorities.
