A 6-year-old boy is in a serious condition this evening after he was hit by a light motor vehicle on Russel Street in Durban, KwaZulu Natal.
ER24 paramedics, along with other services, responded to the scene, and on arrival, found the child lying on the side of the side of the road while the light motor vehicle had parked a few metres away.
On assessment, paramedics found that the young patient had sustained a serious injury to his head.
Paramedics treated the patient and provided him with advanced life support. Once treated, the patient was transported to a nearby hospital for urgent treatment.
The driver of the light motor vehicle fortunately did not sustain any injuries.
Local authorities were on scene for further investigations.
