Woman arrested on N12 in possession of Mandrax

Kimberley police arrested a 36-year-old woman after she was found in possession of 145 mandrax tablets, worth R6000-00 in street value. The woman was arrested on Wednesday, 02 September 2015 while boarding a taxi from Kimberley to Hartswater.

Information was received from a public member about a woman, who is about to board a taxi on N12 in Kimberley to Hartswater. The police reacted promptly to the information, and the woman was arrested. She is suspected to appear before the Kimberley Magistrate’s Court today on a charge of possession of mandrax.

The Kimberley Cluster Commander Major General Jean Abrahams lauds the contribution of the members of the community in the fight against crime. “Crime can only be uprooted within our communities when the communities become part of forces that eradicates crime within the neighbourhood”, she said.
